Our Foundation

A Christian school must be built on Christ, the Chief Cornerstone of any Christian ministry. The product of a school will be determined by its philosophy. Jesus Christ and His Word must be at the center of all that is done. Having Christ as the center changes how students and teachers evaluate life from a humanistic to godly perspective. Real meaning and values can be properly understood only when one has been made new by faith in Jesus Christ and following His Word.

Our Purpose

We strive to develop Christ-like character in  every student by having biblical principles internalized into the very heart and life of our students. Because God has given every student different abilities and talents we see it as our responsibility to develop the maximum potential in each life, both spiritually and academically.

Our Philosophy

Education is more than just transmitting subject matter; it is teaching students how to take facts and translate them into an effective and dedicated life for Jesus Christ. We seek to guide the students into being mentally alert, emotionally stable, physically active, morally straight, and spiritually in tune with Jesus Christ.

Our Goal

By the grace of God we seek to apply this Christ-centered philosophy to every class and activity. We hope to see young people who love the Lord and want to serve Him with all that they have and are.

Heritage Baptist Academy was founded in 1983 as a private, Christian, co-educational K-12 day school ministry of Heritage Baptist Church. Dr. John C. Mincy provided leadership for the church and school including moving to our present location on Heidorn Ranch Road in 1995. In May 2010 Dr. Mincy retired and Pastor Oesterwind took on the leadership responsibilities.

Our nearly five-acre campus has enough space for a baseball field, two volleyball courts, large soccer fields, and two basketball courts. We also have a shaded kindergarten to third-grade play structure.

Campus facilities include one large main building which consists of our school office, administration offices, three classrooms, library, kitchen, restrooms and auditorium. We also have five modular classrooms with an additional modular restroom building.

Our enrollment policy is open for grades kindergarten through five while grades six through twelve has a more restrictive enrollment policy. We have racially nondiscriminatory policies.

Heritage Baptist Academy is accredited through Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC).

Through ACS WASC’s evaluation of institutions, ACS WASC accreditation assures the educational community, the general public, and other organizations and agencies that an institution has clearly defined objectives appropriate to education; has established conditions under which their achievement can reasonably be expected; appears in fact to be accomplishing them substantially; is so organized, staffed, and supported that it can be expected to continue to do so; and demonstrates that it meets ACS WASC’s criteria and accreditation standards. ACS WASC encourages and supports institutional development and improvement through an institutional self-evaluation using the accreditation criteria and policies, as well as mid-cycle, follow-up, and special reports, and periodic evaluation of institutional quality by qualified peer professionals.
